Whiteflash Expert Selection Diamonds vs A CUT ABOVE® Diamonds
Q:
Hey there,
I am looking for a loose diamond for an engagement ring. I’ve been doing a lot of research over the past few days and have come to the conclusion that I want to buy a diamond with the best possible Cut (without sacrificing the other 3 C’s too drastically) that I can afford. I am looking for a Round Shape, I don’t really want to go below H color unless it’s really worth it, and don’t want to go below VS2 unless it’s really worth it and still eye-clean. Ideally, I don’t want to go below .7 CT unless again it’s really worth it, again. My budget is a humble $3000. I can stretch it another couple hundred if it’s really worth my while though.
I’ve been reading a lot about Hearts and Arrows Cuts, as well as Ideal Scope pictures, ASET images, etc. I’m definitely interested in buying a diamond that qualifies as H&A. That being said, I know it comes with a price tag and it may be more realistic for me to not have a Hearts and Arrows Cut in order to salvage some of the other C’s and stay within my price range. I still would like near-perfect Cut though. Any way you can help, I would so greatly appreciate it!
Thank you in advance,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Thank you for letting me know your diamond ring budget as well as specifications. Yes, Cut is Queen when it comes to diamonds! It is the single most important factor that directly relates to a diamond’s overall brilliance and light reflection. Therefore, investing in a well cut diamond is what you should be focused on.
I found a Whiteflash Expert Selection .70ct H VS1 for you: https://www.whiteflash.com/loose-diamonds/round-cut-loose-diamond-2794528.htm
This diamond is part of their Expert Selection line of diamonds. They are all cut for maximum light reflection for optimum brilliance. It is as you requested, a ‘near perfect cut’. If you wanted to learn more about Whiteflash, I encourage you to check out my Whiteflash review.
Let me know what you think and if you have any questions.

What Exactly Is The Difference Between Whiteflash Expert Selection Diamonds vs A CUT ABOVE® Diamonds?
Q:
Hi Liz,
I honestly can’t thank you enough. Whiteflash expert selection diamonds looks perfect and fit all my requirements. However, just out of curiosity, what exactly is the difference between Whiteflash Expert Selection diamonds vs A CUT ABOVE®? I can see they both have impeccable cuts, but is there a big difference? Always interested in learning more…
Thanks again,
Paul

Hi Paul,
Whiteflash Expert Selection Diamonds have hearts and arrows patterning, but have just narrowly missed the very strict criteria of a perfect hearts and arrows A CUT ABOVE® cut. Their ES (expert selection) diamonds are all in-house and fully owned by Whiteflash. They specify that their ES round brilliant diamonds are either triple 0 AGS (ideal light performance, polish and symmetry) or GIA triple excellent (excellent cut, polish and symmetry). To sum it up, a great way to get a near perfect diamond for your budget while not compromising on brilliance!
I hope this makes sense. Let me know if you have any further questions.
Kind Regards,
Liz
