Hearts And Arrows Diamond From Brian Gavin Diamonds
Q:
Hi Liz,
I’ve decided to use Brian Gavin Diamonds to buy an engagement ring. Here is the primary diamond I am considering: http://www.briangavindiamonds.com/diamonds/diamond-details/1.528-g-si1-round-diamond-ags-104069928026
Is there anything to note about the hearts and arrows diamond pattern? Seems less symmetrical than others I have seen.
Thanks,
Kurt

Hi Kurt,
I think your 1.528ct G SI1 is a great example of an AGS ideal cut diamond with fantastic light performance.
The optical symmetry in the hearts and arrows image is very very good. Brian Gavin Diamonds is known for their precision cut diamonds and I wouldn’t expect anything less for a diamond that is part of their ‘Signature’ collection. I think that sometimes people get a little too caught up in the miniscule nuances of the hearts and arrows symmetry. Unless there is a glaringly obvious flaw or discrepancy, the visual representation of the contrast that you’ll see in the actual real-life diamond will not be visible. Rest assured that this diamond is cut very well and will exhibit beautiful brilliance.
Kind Regards,
Liz

Liz,
Hey! Thanks for looking at that for me. I decided on this diamond:

Do you think this one is a good choice?
Thanks,
